Patio Chairs and Tables #RainbowGardenParadise

People are interested in making the best use out of every space they have to work with and this extends beyond the walls of the house. The indoor space is the first one you focus on so you can create the comfort you want to get out of it, but when all this is over, you can turn your attention to the outdoor spaces around the house as well.

Patios are one of the options people turn to when they want to extend the space they have in the house outside as well, but you have to do it with style. There are many different purposes you can use this space for and each of them is going to provide the answers you had in mind, but you will need to use the furniture that suits you best.

For instance, if you want to extend the area of the house and you want to take the dining room outside, this is one of the best options you can use. You can install a few patio chairs and patio tables in the designated area and you can enjoy the fresh air and the open space every time you want to savor a great meal with friends and family.

If you want to make sure the place will look great, you will need to make the right choices from the start. Both the patio chairs and patio tables have to be chosen in the same style, they will need to use the appropriate color and they have to match the environment as well. This is going to provide the answers you are looking for.

If you want to save time and you want to make sure the furniture you will buy is going to look great, you should look for a patio set instead. This is going to provide both chairs and tables made in the same design and you will make the most of the space you can work with while using the details that will rise up to your standards.

The size of the furniture has to be chosen based on the space you have to work with. If the patio is large, you can choose big patio tables and lots of patio chairs to have many people there at the same time. If you have a small patio, you can use only a few items to make use of it, but you have to leave some open space to move around.

The space you have outside the house can be used in many different ways, but you must turn to the best furniture to make use of the space. This is going to provide a wide range of options when it comes to patio sets.

How to Make Your Garden Beautiful with Garden Designs #RainbowGardenParadise

If you are fortunate enough to have a garden but you feel that your garden is rather dull and ordinary, there are some fairly easy things you can do to bring more life into your outdoor space. The most beautiful gardens are those that are carefully planned and cared for. Often times many home owners find it difficult to know exactly what to do with their gardens, but with a bit of inspiration and imagination, the ideas will eventually come to you.

Some of the best garden designs that will dramatically improve the looks of your garden are the most simple to achieve. For instance, by using some timber or large stones, you can outline the various sections of your garden in a very natural way. It is often a great idea to section off the different parts of a garden so that they receive the attention they deserve. Having a nice and neat wooden timber trim around a flower bed can do wonders and make the area look completely different from what it did prior to using the wood. Using bark as a trim around small trees and bushes is another common way to dramatically improve the aesthetic appeal of any garden.

One of the top garden designs in use today is the method of using a pond to create a natural and stunning effect. You can install a pond yourself if you have a good strong back and a bit of know-how. Sunken ponds integrate into the surroundings well and allows you to select both aquatic plants and fish, which could become an entirely new hobby! You can even opt to put a fountain in the pond once you have the pond in place. Fountains are not only a focal point of a garden but they offer tranquility and a peacefulness second to none.

Another suggestion is a garden gazebo. Gazebos are functional, attractive and are perfect if you like to sit outside for long periods of time without worrying about getting sun burned or rained on. Gazebos have been in style for decades and they remain today one of the most popular garden designs on the market. Many people choose the open-sided variety of gazebo as this type offers an unobstructed view of the surroundings but if insects are a problem in your area, you can always purchase a screened-in gazebo. The nice thing about gazebos is the fact that they come in all sizes and shapes ranging from octagon, rectangular, round and square. This allows you to purchase the perfect shape so that it integrates well with the design of your garden and home.

Lighting can give a garden a very magical quality during the night time hours and also extends the time you can use your garden. Some terrific effects can be achieved by placing portable lighting in strategic locations. Small spotlights are perfect for showing off a colorful flower bed or for illuminating the branches of a tree. Nowadays you can purchase inexpensive solar lights that are equipped with stakes that you simply drive into the ground. This type of lighting is very versatile as you can move the individual lights from place to place whenever you choose.

How Far Do You Know About Gardening? #RainbowGardenParadise

Just a small article looking at and trying to explain the common terms that both, the manufacturers and suppliers use when describing and detailing specifications of sheds, summerhouses and log cabins.

Gable: A generally triangular section of wall at the end of a pitched roof. This occupies the space between two slopes. It can also be a whole end wall of a shed having a pitched roof

Apex Roof: This is the most popular style roof and can be seen on this range of sheds the door is normal in the gable end as standard.

Pent Roof: A flat roof building that should have a slight angle applied to it; this is usually about 15 degrees. An ideal model when the height of the building is a prime consideration. An example can be found in this range of pent sheds

Transverse Apex Roof: Still with an apex style roof but instead of the door being in the gable end it is on the side, a good example can be found in this transverse apex log cabin usually the eaves height of the building has to be increased on these.

Pyramid Roof: This has four steeply sloping sides that meet in a point and can be very attractive a decorative element is normally placed on top such as a brass ball or weather vane. It s also known as a pigeon roof. Here is an example of a pyramid roof log cabin

Hip Roof: This roof is formed by four walls that are sloped in different directions with two longer sides forming a ridge at the top. This building is a good example

Ridge Height: This is the very highest point of the building, if it is an apex style it is to the point, if it is a pent style it is to the highest point although usually an upper and lower height is detailed.

Eaves Height: The height of the shed or building from the ground to the point where the roof starts. In the case of pent sheds a lower and upper eaves height is usually given.

Overhang: The dimension of which the roof overhangs the main structure of the building, this can be in any direction and should be especially noted when space is limited, for instance if you plan to site the building next to a wall sometimes the overhang can mean it is prohibitive.

Bearers: These are used to support buildings and run across the floor area. Ideally these should be tanalised, pressure treated. They keep the building from contact with the ground and allow an air gap underneath. Not always necessary but ideal if the base is uneven as the bearers can be leveled relatively easy. Bearer are not really necessary if the base is flat and level and to the footprint of the building.

Floor rails: The pieces of wood that run through the floor at even intervals to support the floor boards themselves.

T&G / tongue and groove: This refers to cladding boards that have a “tongue” or convex side and a “groove” or concave side on the opposite edge. Boards can then be pushed together to provide a secure and smooth joint, these are then nailed onto the framing. Certainly T&G is a better option than shiplap boards. For most uses within the garden buildings the tongue and groove boards are profiled to look like shiplap

Shiplap: Boards are overlapped and nailed to a frame. Traditionally used in cheaper sheds. However, for a rustic, barn style look shiplap is ideal in thicknesses above 12mm

Framing: Traditional timber buildings are built using a technique known as light frame construction and are based around structural members (studs) which provide a stable frame to which exterior cladding can be applied. There are several different thicknesses and dimensions of framing. Although many are described as heavy duty we would not consider a framing heavy duty until at least 50x50mm

Ledged and Braced: A relatively cheap construction method and most doors have this to a lesser or greater degree. It is basically a diagonal member spanning batons or framing across a door. It is designed to prevent the door sagging. Make sure that the diagonal is facing into the hinges; we have often seen it the other way round in cheaper buildings. Ideally the door should be framed, ledged and braced. The traditional range of sheds feature a standard ledged and braced door, whilst the Taylors Manufactured buildings will include a framed, ledged and braced door.

OSB: This is a composite material and is often used in roofs and floors, it's perceived as being a cheap alternative but a good quality board is actually very important, especially when it is subjected to wet use for whatever reason

Gardening-An Expression #RainbowGardenParadise

Gardening-An Expression

Give the same plants to several people, you will see several arrangements. Each one distinct and different, yet, using the same plants.

This is the ultimate reward of gardening- a means to express, to create with the help and inspiration from the gifts of Nature. Gardening is not just physically and aesthetically rewarding. It enriches the spirit. It awakens ones creativity that lies dormant from neglect, or lack of motivation, or a popular excuse, not enough time.

Gardening is fast becoming a popular hobby of the times. From the tropics, to the frigid climes, gardening centers are offering more choices to tantalize even the most conservative taste.

Each year, gardeners look forward with excitement to their gardening; a hobby they take passionately. What new plants are being introduced? What variety of surprises awaits them? The ornamental gardener will be glorious with the new plants or hybrids for the present growing season. The vegetable/herb gardener looks forward with anticipation at harvest time.

With so much variety to choose from, what factors determine which plants to buy? After considering the soil, weather, sun/shade location factors, the choice is all about self- expression.

No two gardens are alike, given the same set of plants. Colors are as revealing as the plants. A conservative gardener will opt for traditional plants. At times, you see the same plants, the same arrangements year after year. Aha!! Perhaps the gardener does not adapt to change too quickly. It may be lack of time, or change of physical health.

Vibrant colors in the garden reflect a vibrant gardener. A garden bursting with colors is very attractive and pleasing to look at. It is inviting.

What about passion? They say red is a color of passion, of energy and courage. Add white to the reds, and the garden beckons the passer-by to take a look. Someone said this combination looks like a candy cane.

My garden is overcome by burst of yellows and orange, not really by choice. Somehow, it gives out a golden glow as the blooms bask in the sun. It reflects my enthusiasm for life. Many of my plants are gifts from friends, treasures for my garden. Yellow flowers remind me of my mother.

Purples and blues in the garden are colors of reflection, of peace and calm. Add white flowers to this and it invites a meditative mood.

After colors, the arrangements of the plants reveal something of the person. I have a friend whose flowerbeds are symmetrical, weedless, picture- perfect, right out of a magazine. Indeed, this expresses her organized way of thinking and living.

A gardener who loves to re-arrange the plants and loves to add new plants and ornaments shows an enthusiastic and energetic spirit, ready to welcome change, eager to experiment.

What about an overgrown garden? Perhaps it reflects someone with scattered energies, at times, a full plate, or one who does not have the time or energy to tend the garden. It may well show one who starts with a burst of enthusiasm that wanes quickly after the planting is done.

No matter how you plan your garden, it is a creative tool that allows you to express yourself. Gardening is therapeutic, physically, mentally and spiritually.

Happy gardening. Don't forget to talk to your plants.

Want to Know and You Can Do About Snakebites #RainbowGardenParadise

A bite from any of the pit vipers produces immediate and severe pain and darkening of the skin, followed by weakness, blurred vision, quickened pulse, nausea and vomiting.

Of the many varieties of snakes found in the whole world, the United States have only four kinds are poisonous: copperheads, rattlesnakes, moccasins, and coral snakes. The first three belong to the category of pit vipers and are known as hemotoxic because their poison enters the bloodstream. The coral snake, which is comparatively rare, is related to the cobra and is the most dangerous of all because its venom is neurotoxic. This means that the poison transmitted by its bite goes directly to the nervous system and the brain.

Snakes of the pit viper family have a fang on each side of the head. These fangs leave characteristic puncture wounds on the skin in addition to two rows of tiny bites or scratches left by the teeth. A bite from a nonpoisonous snake leaves six rows – four upper and two lower – of very small bite marks or scratches and no puncture wounds.

The marks left by the bite of coral snake do not leave any puncture wounds either, but this snake bites with a chewing motion, hanging on to the victim rather than attacking quickly. The coral snake is very easy to recognize because of its distinctive markings: wide horizontal bands of red and black separated by narrow bands of yellow.
A bite from any of the pit vipers produces immediate and severe pain and darkening of the skin, followed by weakness, blurred vision, quickened pulse, nausea and vomiting. The bite of the coral snake produces somewhat the same symptoms, although there is less local pain and considerable drowsiness leading to unconsciousness.

If a physician or a hospital is short distance away, the patient should receive professional help immediately. He should be transported lying down, either on an improvised stretcher or carried by his companions – with the wounded part lower than his heart. He should be advised to move as little as possible.

If several hours must elapse before a physician or a hospital can be reached, the following procedures should be applied promptly: (1) Keep the victim lying down and as still as possible. (2) Tie a constricting band above the wound between it and the heart and tight enough to slow but not stop blood circulation. A handkerchief, necktie, sock, or piece of torn shirt will serve. (3) If a snakebite kit is available, use the knife it contains; otherwise, sterilize a knife or razor blade in a flame. Carefully make small cuts in the skin where the swelling has developed. Make the cuts along the length of the limb, not across or at right angles to it. The incisions should be shallow because of the danger of severing nerves, blood vessels, or muscles. (4) Use the suction cups in the snakebite kit, if available, to draw out as much of the venom as possible. If suction cups are not available, the venom can be removed by sucking it out with the mouth. Although snake venom is not a stomach poison, it should not be swallowed but should be rinsed from the mouth. (5) This procedure should be continued for from 30 to 60 minutes or until the swelling subsides and the other symptoms decrease. (6) You may apply cold compresses to the bite area while waiting for professional assistance. (7) Treat the victim for shock. (8) Give artificial respiration if necessary.

So, next time, when you are planning to have your vacation or sightseeing in the forest, mountain, desert, river, sea or even in your garden, always be aware of snakebite. Know the possible symptoms and emergency treatment beforehand. Besides, have your snakebite kit ready all the time.

Gardening Basics #RainbowGardenParadise

Gardening Basics

Flowers are the plants that give a garden most of its color and fragrance. Some can withstand the weather on their habitat. Gardeners must plan on how to plant during the months of planting, so as to avoid their growing state. Still, some plants live for many years, flowering every summer.

Some plants have flowers all summer but most bloom only for a short time. Some, like certain rosebushes, have flowers only once during the early summer, but others bloom several times.
Good gardeners learn how long after planting they can expect a flower to bloom. They can work out a timetable of flowers, so there will always be some in bloom. Sometimes, gardeners plant seed in pots indoors at a special time and replant them outdoors before the plants bloom.

Trees provide beauty and shade, and some supply fruits and nuts. Very few home gardeners grow trees from seeds because this method requires more care and time than they usually want to give. Instead, most gardeners buy trees from a nursery, where trees, shrubs, and plants are raised and sold.

A tree grows slowly when compared to a flower, but a tree may live for a hundred years. A tall, sturdy tree is a magnificent reward for gardeners who have spent many years taking care of it. They must fertilize and prune it properly, as well as fight off diseases and insects that attack it.

Many gardeners do not grow vegetables, although raising them is as much fun and no more trouble than growing flowers. Tomatoes, onions and peppers can be raised in a window box. Tomatoes may even grow in flower pot. Sometimes, when the weather is still cool, gardeners plant vegetable seeds in pots indoors. They later remove the plants from the pots and plant them in the ground.

A garden that is little larger than a classroom can provide all the vegetables a family of four will need for a year. After planting vegetables, the gardener must protect them from diseases, insect pests, birds and as well as other small animals.

How To Grow Plants in A Flowerpot #RainbowGardenParadise

You can plant a garden in one or more flowerpots, in a window box, or on a small or large area of ground. No matter where you grow plants, the process is the same.

How to grow plants in a Flowerpot:

The best way to get seeds is to buy a small package. Supermarkets and garden supply stores are some of the places you can buy seeds. If you cannot buy any, you can get seeds from some of the food you eat. Tomatoes, corn, peppers, watermelon, apples and oranges are some vegetables and fruits that will supply you with seeds. You must take the seeds from them before cooking.

Put a ½-inch layer of gravel at the bottom of each flowerpot. Fill the pots with soil. Add some fertilizer to enrich the soil. Wet the soil thoroughly. Use a pencil to make shallow furrows (rows) in the soil. Put about ten seeds into the furrows in each pot. (Note, some seeds may not grow). Cover the seeds with soil and press the soil down gently. Put the flowerpots into shallow containers, such as soup plates or dessert dishes. Add water to the shallow container whenever the soil feels dry.

When the seeds have sprouted and the plants are about 1 ½ inches tall, you must make sure that each plant will have room to grow. You will want only one plant in each flowerpot. Choose the healthiest plant and pull all the others out of the soil. This is called thinning.

Be sure that your plants receive the right amount of sunlight. Put the flowerpots where the sun will shine on them as long as possible each day. Buy a container of plant food, and feed the plants according to its directions.
As your plants grow, you must watch them carefully to see that they are not being harmed by insects or disease. To get rid of these attackers, spray or dust the plants with insect and fungus killers, or with a substance recommended by organic gardeners. Weeds may also harm your plants. Remove them as they sprout.

If you have followed all the steps carefully, your plants will be healthy. You will have flowers and vegetables, if you tend your plants carefully and have the patience to wait for them to bloom or ripen.

If you have planted seeds that grow into fruits, they will eventually become so big that they can no longer grow in a small flowerpot. They will have to be transplanted into the earth or into large wooden tubs made for holding trees. If you planted mango or grapefruit seeds, you can transplant them outdoors.

Teach young kids, teenagers to plant and they will value that for their growing years.
